I would like to introduce to you my thoughts for the integration and afterwards my suitable 10-points catalogue.
Central elements of my integration work
Integration is a central topic of interest of my work in SPD. Just the social democracy has exerted itself as "an integration party" always for the participation of all people in the society and politics. For me integration finds his frame in the basic law. Therefore, it is also so important that we create better possibilities for a quick naturalization of migrants and the expansion of the municipal franchise. In particular the recognition of the double nationality makes easier the integration. But the naturalization is not the terminator point of the integration. Many migrants live in Schwetzingen under very easy social conditions. To improve their situation, is an aim of my work. The best basis for a successful integration is a good education and a sure job. Here SPD in the economic policy and educational politics has put important impulses. A good education already goes off with the children. We need better learning offers and linguistic courses. For example, by conveyor lessons for children who already begins in the kindergarten or in the day nurseries. We must strengthen above all the bilingualism, because in combined Europe the sure knowledge from several languages is a clear competitive advantage.
Social services for migrants
Many migrants have come as "a foreign worker" and have remained as a Schwetzinger in our town. Now after years of the work many come to the retirement age. That's why a big need exists in care appropriate for age. We need senior citizen's houses in which employees with linguistic and cultural competence work and on which needs of the migrants come. This is also valid for nursing staff and ambulant services. In cooperation with the advanced technical college for welfare, for example, the intercultural training is to be developed. The town can contribute by the support of intercultural social services and services straight to the improvement of the care offer.
Modern management
A modern city administration places on a wide service for all citizens. I place on the common dialogue with the management to improve the service offer for migrants in Schwetzingen. It is helpful already if there are bilingual or polyglot employees in the management, the migrants with difficult subjects of the naturalization, stay approval or with other social services in the mother tongue can consult. In addition, the management in her personnel politics by the occupation of new places should stronger consider migrants. The management can make thus a big contribution to the better professional qualification of the migrants.
Municipal integration summit
A successful integration assumes the dialogue. I exert myself for the fact that we organise a municipal integration summit in Schwetzingen. Then we would have a common day in the representative from the migrant's associations, enterprisers, works committees, enterprisers, learning association, cultural associations gather to speak of the existing problems and the results in the municipal politics.
